We have been working with Topsail Insurance since 2013, designing, building and maintaining their UK and AU sites, providing print and illustration and ongoing optimisation for search engines. We were asked to give both the UK and AU sites a design overhaul in late 2015 to improve the ease at which users could obtain information and quotes on their Marine Insurance.
Due to the scale and range of services and the analytics of the site, we spent a considerable amount of time planning out the user journey; we needed to ensure that users were able to get a quote with ease through filling in a comprehensive form which didn’t scare them off. In this planning stage and to this day, we have worked with alongside Topsail’s quote-and-buy software company, Comtecs, to design the site which would meet their requirements for this element and would enhance the users journey through the site. For all print work which we have undertaken from Topsail, the planning stage is of great importance. We take the brief, review any past work we’ve created and then set about sketching mock-ups for the print creation, ensuring that we are including all vital elements and providing them with a fresh, new idea.
Design & UX
Through planning we developed a site structure that was engaging, informative and promoted the core areas required within their business. We ensured that in designing the Quote & Buy forms that we were fulfilling the brief of information required from the customer, without overwhelming them and reducing the likelihood of obtaining a quote. We structured these comprehensive forms to have markers which enabled the user to see how far they had progressed with the form, and provided clear, large areas for information input which provides accessibility for a variety of user types of a variety of devises. The site design features were strongly influenced by the branding and the use of imagery relating to their industry, both of which are very appealing.
Print design & graphics
Over the years we have designed a variety of Topsail’s print publications to be shown across various mediums, shows and events. This work has included photo manipulation, hand drawings and extensive graphic design to create a variety of print ads, posters and other printed marketing materials. We ensure to bring Topsail’s branding into every print design we create and look to provide new, unique ideas each time to keep the user’s engaged with the brand.
